30 Years of KAFU: Guest Lecture by Russian Scientist Andrey A. Terov
On September 26, 2024, a guest lecture on the topic “Work of a Student Studying with a Personal Future and Modern Mentoring. Modern Mentoring as an Innovative Pedagogical and Educational Practice” was held at the Kazakh-American Free University. The speaker was Andrey A. Terov, PhD in Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Pedagogical Technologies of the Institute of Continuous Education, author of more than 30 publications on the problems of individualization of education, tutoring and mentoring, continuous education and professional and personal development of teaching and management personnel.
The lecture was attended by students of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology, as well as KAFU teachers. The event discussed the essence of education, building a successful future and steps to achieve the goals. The speaker emphasized the importance of the role of mentoring in the professional development of students, noting the importance of an individualized approach to each student. In addition, attention was paid to the development of self-regulation and self-education skills, which, according to the speaker, are key to success in a rapidly changing world. Particular emphasis was placed on the need to develop critical thinking, flexibility and adaptability in students. At the end of the lecture, participants had the opportunity to ask questions on the topic of the lecture. Active students were awarded memorable prizes.
