30 years of KAFU: role-playing game “International Model UN”

On September 23, 2024, the Kazakh-American Free University hosted a role-playing game “International Model UN “Innovative and Strategic Steps for Rural Development”, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the university. The event brought together students, teachers and international partners from the USA, Germany, Nigeria, the Philippines, New Zealand and Kazakhstan.

As part of the event, the participants, following the procedures of the UN General Assembly, discussed current issues of rural development. Representatives of various countries presented their national approaches and solutions to this problem, proposing innovative strategies for sustainable development of rural areas in the context of global changes in the economy, politics and technology.
A special feature of the event was the opportunity for practical interaction between students and experts, which made it possible to develop a joint resolution with specific recommendations for the further development of rural areas. The adopted resolution aims to promote international cooperation and implement innovative solutions to overcome the challenges faced by rural regions around the world.

The UN Model at KASU has become a shining example of how educational initiatives can promote international dialogue and solve global problems.
