30th Anniversary of KAFU: Workshop by Professor William Bontrager

On September 24, 2024, a workshop on the topic “Peace and Justice: Two Sides of One Coin When in Conflict” was held at the Kazakh-American Free University. The lecture was given by William D. Bontrager, Distinguished Professor of the University, a lawyer with many years of experience, and a former judge from Arizona, USA. Professor Bontrager, who has been actively supporting KAFU since 1997, has become a real role model for students studying law.

During the lecture, the professor revealed key aspects of justice and reconciliation in the context of conflicts, paying special attention to restorative justice and the role of judges in ensuring justice. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and receive answers first-hand from an experienced practicing attorney, which allowed them to better understand the specifics of the US legal system.

Professor Bontrager has a great influence on the development of the American KAFU program and is an inspiring example for future lawyers.
