Anniversary Alley of KAFU
On April 26, 2024, KAFU Alley was founded on the territory of the Left Bank Park of the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk. 30 young pine seedlings were symbolically planted. The event was dedicated to the 30th Anniversary of KAFU.
This event shows the sustainability of the Kazakh-American Free University, which turns 30 years old in 2024. This was the first tree planting on the university’s own alley, which will be continued as a tradition. In the fall of 2024, when the program of celebrating anniversary events continues, it is planned to plant another 30 pine seedlings and install a monument that will designate the alley’s ownership of the Kazakh-American Free University.
Traditionally, the first seedling was planted by the President of KAFU, Yerezhep A. Mambetkaziev, who congratulated those present on their participation in the significant anniversary event. He noted that the KAFU team is a team of international partnerships that has been working for the development of education not only in the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk, but throughout Kazakhstan for 30 years.
The KAFU Alley planting was also met by the Vice-President for International Programs and Cooperation of KAFU – Daniel Ballast, the First Vice-President of KAFU – Zhasulan E. Baikenov, the Vice-Rector for Youth Policy Natalya P. Urazova, heads of structural divisions, deans of faculties, teachers and students.
The planting of new seedlings is carried out as part of the mission of landscaping and improving the ecology of the city.
