Who can take the UNT?

    • school graduates of the current year;
    • school graduates of past years, provided there is no further education after school;
    • college graduates entering a non-related specialty;

    Please note that college graduates entering a related specialty take the UNT in two subjects to participate in the competition for the award of an educational grant. To enroll on a paid basis, it is not necessary to take testing.

    What is the passing score for school graduates?

      The passing score for admission to pedagogical specialties, jurisprudence and law is 75 points, at least 5 points in each subject, for reading literacy and mathematical literacy – at least 3 points. For all others – 50 points, at least 5 points in each subject and/or creative exam, in reading literacy and mathematical literacy – at least 3 points.

      What is the passing score for college graduates?

        For college graduates participating in the grant competition, the passing score for teaching specialties is 35, for all other specialties – 25, and at least 5 points for each subject and/or creative exam.

        What type of IELTS is taken into account when passing a foreign language at UNT?

          Academic IELTS, threshold score is at least 6.0.

          What type of TOEFL is taken into account when passing a foreign language at the UNT?

            TOEFL ibt, threshold score – at least 35;

            TOEFL itp, threshold score – not less than 433;

            TOEFL pbt, threshold score is at least 466.

            Is it necessary to take the summer UNT if you have trial UNT certificates?

              No, it is not necessary, provided that you have passing grades and agree to study on a paid basis. Submitting an application for participation in a grant competition with any trial UNT certificate is not allowed.

              I did not score a passing grade in the summer UNT. How can I do this?

                You have an additional chance to pass the UNT in August. Please note that the results of the August UNT are only suitable for admission on a paid basis.

                  What is a rural quota?

                    The rural quota is a separate amount of state grants for graduates of rural schools.

                    If you are passing the UNT for a creative specialty, how to apply for a grant?

                      Creative exams at universities are held before the competition for state grants. After passing the creative exams, you submit an application for participation in the state grant competition with a list of documents and the results of the creative exams.

                      Where can I apply for a government grant competition?

                        You can submit documents at any university in your city, indicating in the application the universities you want to enroll in.

                            I’m a college graduate, where should I start applying?

                              Before entering, you need to decide on a profession – whether you will continue your studies in your specialty at college, or whether you want to change it.

                              Please note that you can enroll in a related specialty, according to the list of related specialties approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Check the list with the admissions committee.

                              What forms of education are available for college graduates?

                                There are 2 forms of training. For college graduates, full-time training is offered (if you plan to change your specialty) or part-time training (if you continue your studies in a related specialty).

                                      What programs does KAFU offer?

                                        The Kazakh-American Free University has 2 study programs: Kazakhstan and American.

                                        The Kazakhstan program involves obtaining one specialty and one Kazakh diploma;

                                          Is it possible to transfer from a paid department to a grant?

                                            Provided that there are vacant grants, a competition is held. To do this you must have good grades.

                                            Do you have a military department?

                                              Yes. In the first year of study, students collect documents; in the second year, studies at the military department begin. Duration – 2 years.

                                              For students who entered on the TVET basis, the duration of training is 1 year.

                                              I completed military service, under what conditions can I enroll?

                                                According to the Standard Rules for Admission to Study in Educational Organizations Implementing Educational Programs of Higher and Postgraduate Education, “Admission of citizens who have a general secondary education and have served compulsory military service to study at the Higher Professional Educational Institution on a paid basis is carried out within two years after completion of compulsory military service based on the results interviews conducted by the admissions committees of the OVPO during the calendar year. In this case, the enrollment of citizens who have served compulsory military service is carried out in accordance with the academic calendar 5 (five) days before the start of the next academic period.

                                                 Citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan who have served compulsory military service, have technical and vocational, post-secondary or higher education, are accepted within two years after completing compulsory military service to study on a paid basis in educational programs of higher education, providing for shortened periods of study based on the results of an interview conducted by admissions by OVPO commissions during the calendar year. In this case, the enrollment of citizens who have served compulsory military service is carried out in accordance with the academic calendar 5 (five) days before the start of the next academic period.”

                                                Do you have a hostel?

                                                Yes, there is a dormitory at the university, the cost (currently) is 16,000 tenge for students. Applications for a place in the dormitory are accepted until August 25. Check-in to the dormitory takes place on August 31.
