During the period from April 11 to April 17, 2024, the students of College of Economics and Finance took an active part in career guidance events, which became not only a source of useful information, but also inspired them to achieve new heights in their future professional lives.

On April 11, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Business Oksana G. Bogorodskaya, together with 3rd year and 2nd year students of EP “Management” and “Restaurant Administration and Hotel Business”, conducted a “Logistics Quest”.

College students were introduced to the basics of the discipline “Logistics” and were given assignments on different types of logistics. Seven logistics stations greeted the students with interesting tasks of varying difficulty levels. As a result of the quest, the winners received diplomas and gifts from KAFU.

On April 16, under the guidance of teachers of the Department of Business Zhanerke K. Aitkaliyeva and Pavel P. Kossenko , an exciting quest game “KAFU-3301” was held. The organization of the game was attended by a 2nd year student of the EP “Information Systems” Pavel M. Materikin and a 3rd year student of the EP “Finance” Amina S. Bukhryakova.

During the game, 4th year students of the College of Economics and Finance of the EP “Information Systems” and “Computer Engineering and Software” competed in professional knowledge and skills.

The goal was to study the level of development of logical and critical thinking among students. As part of this project, they went through several stages, including tasks on stegonagraphy, encryption, and others. The game allowed students not only to develop their skills, but also to get acquainted with the university.

On April 17, under the leadership of Senior Lecturer of the Department of Business Yulia V. Trofimova, an exciting intellectual battle “Quiz, Please” took place. 3rd year students of the EPs “Accounting and Auditing” and “Finance”, as well as 3rd year students of the College of Economics and Finance of the EP “Accounting and Auditing” competed in professional knowledge and skills.

During the event, they plunged into the world of Hard and Soft skills – key competencies for a successful career in the financial sector. Hard skills are technical knowledge and skills, such as accounting, financial statement analysis and auditing. Soft skills are personal qualities important for teamwork, time management, motivation and effective communication.

During the intellectual battle, participants became familiar with the concept of soft skills, their importance for finance professionals, and what soft skills accountants, financial managers, CFOs and auditors need to develop for a successful career. Developing soft skills is always important in combination with hard skills. If you’re studying accounting, don’t forget to study mindfulness. If you are doing financial analysis, remember to take initiative and find new solutions.
