KAFU celebrates its 30th anniversary
The opening of the International Higher College of Economics and Humanities in eastern Kazakhstan in the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk in 1994 became a landmark event, heralding a new era in the future of education. From the moment the country’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev solemnly opened this educational institution, it has gone from a college to the Kazakh-American Free University – the first domestic university of international partnership, which this year celebrates its 30th anniversary.
KAFU, the country’s first private international partnership university, founded in 1994, has established a unique education model that includes American and Kazakh programs. The university has been accredited by ACBSP (USA) and ACQUIN (Germany), and also has accreditation from IQAA (Kazakhstan), confirming its commitment to high standards of education.
Unique advantages of KAFU:
Since its foundation, the university has been providing education in English with the involvement of foreign specialists.
Over the course of 30 years, educational buildings, a dormitory and sports facilities were purchased and built using our own funds.
More than 800 KAFU students participated in unique international KAFU programs financed by a joint fund of the university and partners.
More than 500 foreign partners actively participated in the educational process.
Foreign citizens play a significant role in the leadership of the university, including Marshall Christensen and Daniel Ballast.
Unique training and internship programs in the USA.
In honor of the 30th anniversary of the university, various events will begin in March 2024, including olympiads, conferences, cultural and educational events, which will be covered on a special panel on the KAFU website and in the media.
