KAFU Held a Seminar on STEAM Education

Today, the Kazakh-American Free University held a seminar on the topic “Fundamentals of STEAM Education: Nature, Trends and Prospects”. The speaker of the seminar was Darya V. Dedova, a teacher of the “Secondary School No. 14” of the education department of the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk of the education department of the East Kazakhstan region.

The seminar was held as part of the study of the course “IT Technologies in Education” for students of the educational programs “Russian Language and Literature” and “Physical Education and Sports”.

The participants of the seminar got acquainted with the key approaches to STEAM education, including Phenomenon-based learning (PhBL) and project-based learning (PBL). Examples of practical tasks were presented, such as “Studying Rhythm in Language”, “Laws of Physics in Sports” and “Development of a School Blog on the Topic of Literacy”.

Darya V. Dedova shared her experience of implementing STEAM methods in the educational process, focusing on their importance for the development of critical thinking, creativity and students’ readiness for the challenges of the 21st century.

At the end of the seminar, the participants discussed the prospects for using STEAM approaches in their professional practice, noting their importance for training modern teachers and specialists.
