Meeting of Representatives of the East Kazakhstan Region Police Department with KAFU Students
On December 3, 2024, a meeting of the leadership of the East Kazakhstan Region Police Department with students and teachers of the Department of Law and International Relations was held at the Kazakh-American Free University.
On behalf of the university, the First Vice-President of KAFU, Zhasulan Y. Baikenov, delivered a welcoming speech, expressing gratitude to the Police Department for many years of fruitful cooperation, emphasizing the importance of interaction between science, education, and law enforcement agencies in solving pressing social problems.
On behalf of the East Kazakhstan Region Police Department, the participants were welcomed by the Deputy head of the Department, Police Colonel Kazbek M. Takzhanov. He spoke in detail about the features of entering the service and career prospects in the internal affairs agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In his speech, Kazbek M. Takzhanov also focused on Internet fraud problems and the increase in crimes committed using IT technologies.
The police colonel called on students to actively cooperate with law enforcement agencies, including participating in volunteer projects to prevent cybercrime. He noted that young professionals with modern knowledge in the field of information technology can make a significant contribution to the fight against crime.
During the meeting, students asked many questions regarding both the specifics of service in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and current issues of cybersecurity. Representatives of the Police Department gave detailed and comprehensive answers, which contributed to the formation of a full understanding of the stated topics among students.
In conclusion, the parties expressed their intention to conclude an additional Memorandum of Cooperation in the designated areas.
