Meeting with Professor Martina Vorkočková of the Metropolitan University of Prague
On September 30, 2024, a meeting of the management team with Professor Martina Vorkočková of the Metropolitan University of Prague was held at the Kazakh-American Free University. During the meeting, Professor Vorkočková spoke about her educational institution, noting that the Metropolitan University is a private university with nine departments, one of which is the Department of International Relations and European Studies, which she represents.
Particular attention was paid to the educational programs of the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral (PhD) degrees, as well as the importance of scientific research. Martina Vorkočková emphasized that the university actively promotes scientific articles in leading international databases such as Web of Science and Scopus.
The professor spoke about the programs of study in English and the new program “Digital Economy”. She noted that the educational programs of the universities are largely similar: both universities offer such areas as management, humanities, journalism and tourism. The prospects for developing double-degree educational programs were discussed, which opens up new opportunities for students of both universities.
At the end of the meeting, the participants discussed possible areas of cooperation, in particular in the field of academic mobility, as well as the further development of double-degree programs. It was proposed to establish interaction between the departments of the universities in the fields of international relations, financial management, journalism and tourism.
Martina Varkočková, Associate Professor at the Metropolitan University in Prague, is also Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Central European Journal of International and Security Studies, indexed in the Scopus database, which proves her active participation in international scientific activities.
