Excursion to the Institution of the Penal System of the East Kazakhstan Region

On December 10, 2024, within the framework of the Agreement on strategic partnership between the Kazakh-American Free University and the Department of the Penal System of the East Kazakhstan region, an excursion to the “Institution No. 24” of the Committee of the Criminal Executive System of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held for students, graduate students and teachers of the Department of Law and International Relations.

During the excursion, the deputy head of the institution, Major of Justice Sayakhat A. Sharipov, acquainted the guests with the features of the institution’s functioning, the conditions of detention of convicts, and also spoke about the procedure for entering the service in the bodies of the penal system.

The excursion provided the participants with a unique opportunity to get a visual representation of the work of the penal system, ask questions to the institution’s employees and discuss current issues of penal policy.

This event contributed to strengthening mutual cooperation between KAFU and the bodies of the penal system, as well as expanding the practice-oriented approach to training specialists in the field of law.
