Opening Ceremony of the 30th Anniversary of KAFU and the 40th Anniversary of the Rector’s Activity of E.A. Mambetkaziyev
On September 23, 2024, a grand opening ceremony of the celebration week dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the university and the 40th anniversary of the rector’s activity of E.A. Mambetkaziyev was held in the main academic building of the Kazakh-American Free University. The event became a landmark event that brought together employees, teachers, students, foreign partners and representatives of the city’s public.
The opening of the ceremony began with a welcoming speech by the Vice President of the University Daniel Ballust, who briefly spoke about the key achievements of KAFU over 30 years of its existence and presented the program of upcoming anniversary events. At the ceremony, teachers and employees who dedicated more than 20 years of their lives to working at the university were awarded. They were presented with certificates of honor for their contribution to the development of the university, which became a symbol of recognition of their many years of work:

A special moment of the event was the honoring of foreign partners who made a significant contribution to the success of KAFU. They were awarded the honorary title of “Doctor of KAFU”. The awardees include professors from Germany and the United States whose collaboration has contributed to the growth of international relations and scientific achievements of the university:
- Professor Douglas Hartman – representative of the University of Michigan, USA. Over the years of collaboration, Professor Hartman has made a significant contribution to the development of scientific research and academic life of the university.
- Professor Ron Wiley – his vision and support have contributed to the growth and development of our university in preparing a young generation of future leaders;
- Professor Kai Nobach – representative of the Ohm University of Nuremberg, Germany. His contributions to education and international cooperation have made him an indispensable partner for us;
The ceremony ended with a video showing dedicated to the 40-year rectorship of E.A. Mambetkaziyev. The film told about his enormous contribution to the development of science and education in Kazakhstan and beyond. Erezhep Mambetkaziyev is a name that has become a symbol of dedication, commitment and continuous striving for excellence. Under his leadership, our university has become a recognized international educational center, has trained thousands of successful graduates and established strong partnerships with universities around the world.
