Students of the OP “Translation Business” of the KAFU visited the Museum of Local Lore to practice interpretation
On March 15, 2024, students of the educational program 6B02301 “Translation business” of the Kazakh-American Free University visited the Museum of Local Lore under the guidance of teacher Smagina A.V. The purpose of the visit was the practice of interpretation in real conditions, which is a traditional form of conducting classes at KASU.
During the tour, students actively trained their interpretation skills, working with vocabulary and translating the tour for their classmates and the teacher. The tour, prepared by the students themselves, included information about the various exhibits of the museum and the history of the region. This allowed students not only to deepen their knowledge of the topic, but also to work out various translation options, discussing the most accurate and appropriate formulations.
Students enthusiastically participated in the event, asked questions and actively discussed various aspects of translation. They noted that such practical exercises help them feel more confident and prepared for future professional activities.
This approach to learning contributes not only to the development of language skills, but also to the professional confidence of students, preparing them to work in real conditions. A visit to the Museum of Local Lore is another step towards their professional development.
