The Basic Course of the Unique Program “Leadership Principles” for KAFU Students Is Over
On October 31, 2024, the basic course of the International Servant Leadership Program (ISLP) for students of the Kazakh-American Free University was successfully completed. It consisted of 30 classroom hours and was aimed at teaching the basics of leadership through active team teaching and practical interaction. During the course, participants, using examples and dialogues, were able to better understand the principles of leadership focused on service and respect for each person, as well as the development of team and intercultural skills.
The course was taught by Daniel Ballast, KAFU Vice President for International Relations and Cooperation, Anna V. Kabardina and Aizhan Ye. Chettykbaeva. The program was created in cooperation with Co-Serve International (Portland, USA) and is specially designed for students, master’s students and doctoral students interested in developing leadership qualities and international communication skills.
The program includes:
• development of personal and professional leadership potential;
• training in intercultural communication skills;
• strengthening international relations;
• improving English proficiency for work in an international environment;
• studying modern approaches to management and teamwork.
After completing the basic course, participants will continue their training as part of the leadership mentoring program. For 14 weeks, they will work under the guidance of mentors from among educators, entrepreneurs and public figures, many of whom are U.S. citizens. Mentors with extensive professional and personal experience will help participants deepen their understanding of servant leadership and develop their skills in practice.
