30th Anniversary: Meeting with Representatives of the University of Arizona (USA)
On September 26, 2024, a meeting with representatives of the University of Arizona (USA) was held at the Kazakh-American Free University. The meeting was attended by leading specialists from the University of Arizona: Dr. Shane Burgess, Vice President of the Faculty of Agricultural, Natural and Veterinary Sciences and Dean of the Charles Sander College of Agricultural, Natural and Veterinary Sciences and the Environment, as well as Ola Lundemo, Head of the Tourism Education Program, Deputy Director of International Tourism and Hospitality, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Natural Resources and the Environment at the University of Arizona.
From KAFU, the meeting was attended by First Vice President Zhasulan Baikenov, Professor Hugh Hallman, Vice President for International Programs and Cooperation, as well as key representatives of the university.
The main topic of the meeting was the discussion of opportunities for cooperation in educational programs, especially in the field of student exchange and the creation of double-degree programs in tourism. Dr. Burgess and Associate Professor Lundemo presented their proposals and shared their experience in implementing similar initiatives at the University of Arizona. During the discussion, it was noted that the programs of both universities have similar areas, which opens up opportunities for active interaction. In conclusion, the parties discussed further steps to develop academic mobility and cooperation in the field of tourism and management.
