Special exam
For applicants to the group of higher education programs:
B003 “Pedagogy and Methods of Primary Education”,
B016 “Training of Teachers of Kazakh Language and Literature”,
B017 “Training of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature”,
B018 “Training of Foreign Language Teachers”:
The special exam is aimed at determining the applicant’s aptitude for pedagogical activity. During the exam, a pedagogical situation is resolved. Applicants are presented with specific examples and facts that require the use of pedagogical techniques.
Submission of applications for special exams for pedagogical specialties (for grant participation):
June 16 to July 13 of the calendar year.
Submission of applications for special exams for pedagogical specialties (for paid admission):
June 16 to August 24 of the calendar year.
Applications for the special exam must be submitted to the universities of your choice.
Individuals applying to universities under the field of “Pedagogical Sciences” must take one special exam, which is conducted by the admissions committees of the universities.
For applicants to pedagogical specialties, the following subject scores are considered:
- History of Kazakhstan
- Mathematical Literacy
- Reading Literacy (language of instruction)
- Two specialized (profile) subjects
For applicants entering related areas of higher education training programs with reduced duration of study, the scores for general professional and specialized subjects are considered (excluding those applying to paid programs at HEIs).
List of required documents for applicants to pedagogical educational programs:
- High school certificate/diploma with transcript (original)
- UNT certificate
- Medical certificate (form 075/u)
- Copy of ID card
- 4 photos sized 3×4 cm
- Document folder and envelope
For graduates of general secondary, technical and vocational, or post-secondary education institutions applying to higher education programs in pedagogical specialties (except for those applying to related fields with reduced study duration), who have passed the UNT and wish to compete for a state educational grant funded by the republican or local budget and/or wish to enroll in paid studies at the University:
- B003 “Pedagogy and Methods of Primary Education”
B016 “Training of Teachers of Kazakh Language and Literature”
B017 “Training of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature”
B018 “Training of Foreign Language Teachers”
— a minimum of 75 points, including:
at least 5 points in History of Kazakhstan,
at least 3 points in Reading Literacy and Mathematical Literacy,
and at least 5 points in each profile subject.
For graduates of technical and vocational or post-secondary education institutions applying to related areas of higher education training with shortened study periods in pedagogical specialties, who have passed the UNT and wish to participate in the competition for a state-funded educational grant (based on UNT), a minimum of 35 points is required, including:
at least 5 points in the general professional subject, and
at least 5 points in the specialized subject.
