30th Anniversary of KAFU: Opening of the Hugh Hallman Auditorium

On September 26, 2024, the opening of the auditorium named after Professor Hugh Hallman took place at the Kazakh-American Free University.

Hugh Hallman is one of the founders of the Kazakh-American Free University, a US citizen, a politician who served as mayor of Tempe, Arizona, for two consecutive terms, from 2004 to 2012.

Hallman is a public activist, volunteer and an outstanding politician. His experience as a civil servant, teacher, economist and lawyer allowed him to develop public programs and policies at the local, national and international levels.

His active partnership in the distant 90s with Academician, Doctor of Chemical Sciences Yerezhep A. Mambetkaziyev, led to the creation of the Kazakh-American Free University, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.

In recognition of Hallman’s contributions to the creation and development of the university, KAFU named auditorium 202 after Professor Hugh Hallman.

As part of the opening, a mock trial was held, presented by students and faculty of the university, where they demonstrated their knowledge and skills in the field of law, simulating a trial in an academic environment.
