30th Anniversary of KAFU: Visit of the Delegation of the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences

On September 25, 2024, a meeting with a delegation of the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences (Zwickau, Germany) was held at the Kazakh-American Free University. The official vizit was dedicated to summing up the results of joint projects and discussing further cooperation between the two universities.

The delegation from Germany included leading professors and researchers from the University of Zwickau, including the President of the University Stefan Kassel, Professor Christian Brauweiler, Professor Bernd Zirkler, Professor Thomas Pepper, Professor Claudia Winkelmann, Professor Tom Schall, as well as researchers Lisa Strauch, Melanie Weber, Tim Tischendorf, KAFU doctoral students Stefan Noack and Alexander Neske.

The meeting was moderated by Serik Abilov and welcoming speeches were given by the President of KAFU, Academician of the NAS of Republic of Kazakhstan, Yerezhep Mambetkaziyev, Rector of KAFU, PhD, Aidar Mambetkaziyev, and President of the West Saxon University Stefan Kassel. Also the First Vice President of KAFU Zhasulan Baikenov and Vice President for International Programs and Cooperation Daniel Ballast. The partisipants discussed the achievements of joint projects, the current state of partnership and prospects for expanding scientific cooperation. An important outcome was the discussion of new areas of cooperation in the field of applied sciences and training of young specialists.
