A Short Briefing for KAFU Students with Journalist Yevgeniya Chekh
On November 5, 2024, a meeting with Yevgeniya Chekh, a journalist from the «Ustinka Plus» information portal, was held at the Kazakh-American Free University. It was organized for students of the Journalism educational program.
Yevgeniya shared her experience working in the media and talked about the peculiarities of the profession and the modern challenges journalists face. She described her professional path in detail, starting with her first steps in journalism, and recalled interesting cases related to working on regional television.
According to her, working in the editorial office taught her to effectively cope with stress and find an approach to various interlocutors. This is especially important in journalism, where every day brings new and unpredictable challenges.
The students learned about the process of creating news materials, and the peculiarities of regional journalism in Kazakhstan, and also discussed career prospects in the media. The event was held in the format of a mini-briefing, where each student could ask questions and receive valuable advice from an experienced specialist.
