City Championship of Business Ideas among 9th-11th Graders

On January 27, 2023, at the “Profile School”, together with the Department of Education of the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk and the Kazakh-American Free University, the City Championship of business ideas was held among students in grades 9-11, in which 40 schoolchildren from the regional center took part. With a welcoming speech to the participants, the director of “Profile School” Ph.D. – B.A. Iskakov, director of the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of East Kazakhstan region – K.N. Mamyrbaev, Head of the Department of Business at KAFU, PhD – I.V. Bordianu, Head of the tourism sector of the department of physical culture, sports and tourism of the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk – B.E. Nursovetov. All of them noted the importance of holding such events among young people, because many of them will choose business as their professional path. This competition will allow young people to lay the foundation for their entrepreneurial future today and give a powerful incentive to start their own business.

The competition was held in 5 sections: “IT and Education”, “Services”, “Startup”, “Tourism” and “Green Economy”, in each of which the jury members determined their winners. The jury included leading teachers of KAFU, teachers of the “Profile School”, representatives of the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the East Kazakhstan region, the Department of Education of the East Kazakhstan region, the school-lyceum “Nurorda”, the city department of entrepreneurship of the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk, the employment center of the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk.

According to the competition results the following winners were chosen:

Section «IT and Education»: 

1 place – Nurassyl Zhuandyk (Lyceum №44);

2 place – Arailym Rakhimova (School-lyceum №43);

3 place – Samira Tokhtarova (Lyceum №44).

Section «Services»: 

1 place – Kamshat Alipbayeva (School-lyceum №43);

2 place – Alina Beiymbetkyzy (Profile school);

3 place – Polina Sedova (School №5).

Section «Startup»:

1 place – Kamila Sailaukhanova (School-gymnasia №10);

2 place – Alina Sydykanova (School №16);

3 place – Mansur Nurakhmetov (School №23).

Section «Tourism»:

1 place – Milana Cherepanova (School №36);

2 place – Beksana Kutchanova (School №20);

3 place – Adema Kalikanova (Lyceum №44).

«Green Economy»: 

1 place – Margarita Shevchenko (School №9);

2 place – Taissiya Trifonova (School №17);

3 place – Darina Askarbekova (School №42).

The following participants were also awarded personal certificates and gifts:

  1. Miras Mukhametkan – a 9th grade student of “School-Center for Additional Education No. 48” – a project in the environmental direction “Production of Craft Bags for Food Packaging” was awarded a diploma from the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the East Kazakhstan region as the best project;
  2. Yerkezhan Yerkhankyzy – a student of the 10th grade of “Secondary School No. 49” – the project “Children’s Game Center” was awarded a diploma from representatives of the school-lyceum “Nurorda”;
  3. Adela Batyrbekova – a student of the 10th grade of “O. Bokei Lyceum No. 44” – the project “Production of Fabric from Sheep Wool” was awarded a diploma from representatives of the Employment Center of the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk.
  4. Nurasyl Zhuandyk – a student of the 10th grade of “O. Bokei Lyceum No. 44” – the project “SAVLI Application” was awarded a diploma from representatives of the Department of Education of East Kazakhstan region.

All participants were awarded certificates for participation, and the teachers received letters of thanks for preparing participants and winners.
