Cooperation of KAFU and Bukenov State University in the Field of Training Journalists

In the 2022-2023 academic year, the Kazakh-American Free University entered into a partnership agreement with Buketov Karaganda State University. On the basis of this agreement, a 3rd year student of the educational program “Journalism” Zhibek Medelbekova is studying at this university under the academic mobility program from January 23, 2023 (training lasts 1 semester).

Department of Journalism, Buketov Karaganda State University trains specialists in the field of mass media and offers undergraduate and graduate programs. Students of the department are trained in five directions: “Electronic Media”, “Mass Media in the Press”, “Transmedia Journalism”, “Advertising and PR Activities”, “Creative Digital Technologies”.

At the Department of Journalism there is a laboratory of educational television. It is a complex that includes a studio, editing, control room, radio hub, experimental classroom. The laboratory conducts practical classes in television and radio journalism.

Zhibek Medelbekova, as a future journalist, gets acquainted with the material and technical base of the university, learns from experienced teachers, and improves her skills. In the process of learning, she learns to write press releases, create and shoot backgrounds, organize briefings, press conferences, and work with media representatives.
