Development of the Tourism Potential of the City of Ust-Kamenogorsk for 2024

On October 5, 2023, a meeting was held at the «Zerek» center on the topic of developing the tourism potential of the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk. Under the leadership of the akim of the city of Zhaksylyk Omar, the existing problems of the tourism industry were discussed and ways to solve them were proposed.

Senior Lecturer of the Department of Business, head of educational programs “Tourism” and “Restaurant and Hotel Business” Kalieva A.E. took part in the meeting.

In the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk, despite the enormous potential, the tourism industry of the city and region is poorly developed.

Zhaksylyk Omar outlined his position regarding the need to develop tourism in the city and emphasized that by combining the efforts of enterprising entrepreneurs with state support, it is possible to build an excellent tourism cluster.

Representatives of the tourism sector of the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk proposed several real ways that can change the situation in the tourism industry. These include the repair of roads to the main tourism sites, the installation of sanitary and hygienic facilities on the main roads, the training of guides and guides in specialized courses, the opening of a school for young skiers, the opening of a modern visitor center of the city, holding events and festivals in the region and the city .
