Discussion on Societal Issues: “The Tendency to Waste”
On October 24, 2025, second-year students of the “Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages” and “Translation Studies” programs at the Kazakh-American Free University participated in an open lesson led by Alexander V. Palkin.
During the lesson, participants learned modern vocabulary on finance and consumption, discussed the causes of wastefulness, and learned about ways to rationally manage personal finances.
The final stage was a debate on the topic: “Is Being Wasteful with Money a Personal Weakness or a Result of Modern Society?”
The students demonstrated a high level of English proficiency, critical thinking, and the ability to argue their case.
