Discussion on the Manifestations and Prevention of Bullying in the Academic Environment
On October 30, 2025, a discussion was held as part of the “Adal Azamat” educational program to address one of the pressing issues of our time: bullying in the academic environment.
Second-year students from the Department of Foreign Languages at the Kazakh-American Free University participated in the discussion in English, “Bullying: Causes, Consequences, and Prevention.”
During the discussion, participants examined the concept of bullying, its forms, and its consequences for the individual. During the discussion, students exchanged views on the causes of aggressive behavior, the role of social media in bullying, and the importance of developing emotional literacy for preventing not only bullying but also conflict in general.
Special attention was paid to the practical aspects of countering bullying, such as creating a supportive atmosphere, building trust within the group, and developing a culture of respectful communication. The students proposed a variety of options for strengthening psychological comfort in the educational environment. This format allowed students to practice argumentation, public speaking, and group interaction skills. The discussion helped them gain a deeper understanding of the problem and recognize their personal responsibility for maintaining positive relationships within the team.
