Eco-Hours at KAFU: Caring for Nature Starts with Us!

On April 4, 2025, eco-hours were held at the Kazakh-American Free University, united by a common idea – to attract students’ attention to environmental problems in Kazakhstan and awaken their responsibility for the world around them.
In all academic groups, advisers held advisory hours with a meaningful and inspiring lecture dedicated to the environmental situation in our country. Students learned about the main environmental challenges: desertification of lands, air and water pollution, the disappearance of biodiversity, as well as what steps are already being taken and what each of us can do today.
After the lectures, quizzes and interactive games dedicated to environmental topics were organized for students. Participants demonstrated excellent knowledge, creativity and a keen interest in the topic, discussing sustainable consumption, separate waste collection and the possibilities of “green” technologies.
Such events not only broaden horizons, but also form an ecological culture, develop critical thinking and a sense of responsibility to future generations.
The students were happy to share their impressions, ideas on how to make the university and our city cleaner, greener and safer to live in.
