Excursion to “Kazzinc” LLP within the Framework of the Project “Major-Specialized Class of KAFU”

In April of the current academic year, as part of the course “Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship and Business”, field trips to the leading enterprises of the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk and the region were organized for students of the specialized class of KAFU.

On April 23, 2025, students of two specialized classes of KAFU visited the museum of “Kazzinc” LLP. The excursion was attended by the adviser to the rector of KAFU Nataliya A. Nesterenko, as well as class teachers of the partner Ybrai Altynsarin school No. 39 – Kochetkova I.V. and Moskvicheva T.N.

“Kazzinc” LLP is a metallurgical complex located in Ust-Kamenogorsk. It includes a zinc plant with an annual production capacity of 190,000 tons, a lead plant with a capacity of 144,000 tons per year, as well as refining production. All production facilities are located on one site within the city and have a common infrastructure. In the modern and information-rich museum of the metallurgical complex, school studentslearned about the history of the enterprise and the main stages of its development. The excursion program was compiled taking into account the professional interests of the students. In addition to visiting the museum, the participants also watched an information film about the history of the formation and development of the plant, which made the greatest impression on them.

The students had a unique opportunity to learn about the work of the enterprise “from the inside”, get acquainted with the technological process, communicate with professionals and get answers to all their questions.

The school students learned about the importance of the metallurgical complex in the regional economyassessed the contribution of the industry to the development of both the East Kazakhstan region and the country as a whole. It is especially important that the visit to the enterprise took place as part of the study of the discipline “Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship and Business”, which emphasizes the career guidance focus of the training of future applicants.

After the excursion, the school students had the opportunity to ask additional questions and get more information about metallurgical production. The schoolstudents left with vivid impressions, significantly expanding their knowledge of metallurgy and its importance for the industrial and economic development of the country.
