Extended Meeting of the KAFU Academic Council

On December 19, 2025, an extended meeting of the Academic Council was held at the Kazakhstan-American Free University under the chairmanship of the President of KAFU, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Erezhep Alkhairovich Mambetkaziev, and the Rector of KAFU, PhD Aidar Erezhepovich Mambetkaziev.

During the meeting, key issues related to the university’s activities were discussed, including the educational process, educational and scientific work, as well as the financial and economic development of the university.

A report on the implementation of the KAFU Strategic Development Plan for 2023–2027 was presented by the First Vice President of KAFU, PhD Zhasulan Erbolovich Baikenov, who outlined the main results achieved and the priority areas for further development.

Information on the topic “Internal University Support for Research as a Factor in Enhancing the Research Potential of KAFU” was presented by the Vice-Rector for Research and Postgraduate Education, Yuliya Aleksandrovna Gavrilova. The report highlighted measures aimed at developing scientific activity and increasing research productivity at the university.

A presentation titled “Transformation of the Student Environment at KAFU: Experience, Practice, and Prospects” was delivered by the Vice-Rector for Youth Policy, Natalya Pavlovna Urazova, who addressed issues related to the formation of a modern student environment and the development of extracurricular activities.

The meeting also included a report by the Chief Accountant of KAFU, Irina Vasilyevna Golubeva, on the topic “Financial and Economic Performance of the University in 2025.”

In her concluding remarks, the President of KAFU, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Erezhep Alkhairovich Mambetkaziev, outlined the key priorities for the further development of the university.

As part of the meeting, diplomas and academic titles were awarded, as well as letters of appreciation presented to university staff for their contribution to the development of educational programs and active participation in the social and cultural life of KAFU.

In addition, it was announced that financial incentives would be awarded to KAFU staff members for publishing scientific articles in 2025 indexed in the international Scopus database with a CiteScore percentile above 25, in accordance with the established criteria.

Based on the results of the meeting, the Academic Council adopted relevant decisions aimed at ensuring the sustainable development of the Kazakhstan-American Free University.
