February at KAFU: International Experience, New Ideas, and Real Projects
February 2026 was a truly eventful and ambitious month at the Kazakh-American Free University. The university once again confirmed its status as a unique educational platform where international expertise, modern knowledge, and talent come together.
For the month, two invited experts from the United States worked with students, faculty, and schoolchildren in the city.
One of the key events was the visit of Allen Lenard, a successful entrepreneur from Louisiana. He conducted a series of intensive classes on the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, leadership, and launching personal projects. During his meetings with KAFU students, the expert shared his practical business experience, discussed startup development strategies, and answered questions from the participants.
The program’s particular value was its reach far beyond the university. Allen Lenard actively worked not only with KAFU students but also with students from the KAFU Higher College and the College of Economics and Technology. In addition, step-by-step master classes were organized for the city’s schoolchildren, where participants learned about the first stages of creating their own projects and entrepreneurial initiatives.
At the same time, another visiting specialist, Rebecca Bates, Ph.D., from Minnesota State University, worked at the university. She held a series of meetings with future teachers, introducing them in detail to the Action Research method—a modern research approach widely used in global pedagogical practice.
During the sessions, Rebecca Bates shared relevant tools for conducting educational research, explained how to apply them in real-life teaching practice, and how to transform professional observations into research projects.
The February meetings once again demonstrated that KAFU is more than just a university. It is a space for lively dialogue with international professionals, continuous development, and new opportunities.
Here knowledge is transformed into practice, ideas into projects, and students have the opportunity to learn from world-class experts—from their first steps in school to their master’s degree.
