“Friendship of Peoples and Intercultural Dialogue: The Experience of the Kyrgyz Republic”
On March 16, 2026, Khansyvar R. Bakhshaliev, Chairman of the Birlik Public Association of Azerbaijanis in the Kyrgyz Republic, held a guest lecture online for undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students in the Department of Law and International Relations.
During the lecture, the speaker discussed practical experiences in strengthening interethnic harmony and developing friendship among peoples in the Kyrgyz Republic. Particular attention was paid to public initiatives and the activities of national-cultural associations aimed at preserving cultural diversity and fostering an atmosphere of mutual respect between representatives of different ethnic groups.
A separate section of the presentation included a comparative analysis of approaches to fostering interethnic harmony in the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Kazakhstan. The speaker noted the similarities in historical and cultural backgrounds, as well as the importance of public organizations and civic initiatives in strengthening intercultural dialogue. At the end of the meeting, the students asked Khansyvar R. Bakhshaliev a number of questions. They were interested in the ethnocultural composition of the Kyrgyz Republic’s population, the traditions of the various peoples living in the country, and the opportunities for studying at Kyrgyz universities through academic mobility programs.
