Guest Lecture “Drop Services and Financial Fraud: Responsibility and Prevention”
On November 10, 2025, as part of the International Scientific Congress “Humanization of Education in the Digital World: Professional and Ethical Guidelines for International Partnership,” Captain A.B. Sotsialov, Head of the Cybercrime Investigation Department of the Ust-Kamenogorsk Police Department, delivered a guest lecture on the topic “Drop Services and Financial Fraud: Responsibility and Prevention.”
During the lecture, the speakers discussed in detail the current threats associated with cybercrime and the development of financial fraud schemes, particularly the activities of so-called “drops”—intermediaries involved in illegal money transfers. Police officers presented case studies, analyzed typical fraudulent schemes and mechanisms for engaging citizens in illegal activities, and emphasized the importance of digital literacy and legal awareness in preventing such offenses.
Particular attention was paid to criminal and administrative liability for participation in financial fraud, as well as measures to prevent cybercrime among young people. The lecture generated keen interest among students, who asked numerous questions about the practical aspects of combating cybercrime, the interaction between law enforcement and IT specialists, and new trends in digital security.
The event helped students develop a conscious attitude toward personal information security and an understanding of the role of law in protecting citizens from modern digital threats.
