Guest lectures by visiting professor Thomas Schmitz for students and teachers of KAFU
Regional lecturer of DAAD, professor of jurisprudence Thomas Schmitz arrived at KAFU to take part in the annual XIV International Forum of Young Scientists “Modern scientific directions: from applied research to innovation.”
As part of Science Week, Professor Thomas Schmitz gave several lectures for students and teachers of the Department of Law and International Relations.
At the first lecture, “Human and Fundamental Rights as Directly Binding Law,” he presented his interpretation of the foundations of fundamental law. At subsequent meetings, the following topics were discussed: “Integration through Law – the European Approach of Supranational Geo-regional Integration” and “New Threats for Democracy in the Era of Digitalization”.
Professor Thomas Schmitz completed the course of lectures with a master class on the topic “Developments in Legal Education in Times of Globalization – observations from the experience of academic teaching in Europe and Asia.”
All events were held in a discussion format, students showed great interest in the speech of the foreign guest. They expressed gratitude to him, noting that the lectures were educational and contained a lot of new and useful information.

KAFU has been cooperating with DAAD since 2015. During this time, a group of 15 students traveled to Germany, scholarships are regularly allocated to KAFU students and teachers to travel to this country, and a regional conference of program graduates was held in September 2023.
