Material and Technical Base
As part of the implementation of the Development Strategy of the Kazakh-American Free University for 2023–2027, the provision of the educational process and research activities with modern equipment, a material and technical base, and appropriate working conditions for faculty members and students is regarded as one of the strategic priorities.
The university has two academic buildings with a total area of 12,306.1 sq. m, which ensure the organization of the educational process, research activities, and extracurricular events. The academic buildings are equipped with the necessary classrooms, laboratories, specialized facilities, as well as administrative and auxiliary premises, creating conditions for the effective implementation of educational programs. The modern infrastructure of the buildings provides comfortable conditions for learning, teaching, and conducting scientific and educational activities.


The university has its own guesthouse intended for accommodating foreign scholars, lecturers, as well as official guests of the university. The availability of the guesthouse provides comfortable conditions, contributes to the expansion of academic mobility, fosters the development of scientific collaboration, and supports the implementation of joint educational and research projects. This resource plays an important role in strengthening international relations and enhancing the university’s competitiveness in the global education market.

The university has its own dormitory, providing accommodation for students arriving from other regions and countries. The dormitory offers the necessary living and sanitary conditions for comfortable residence, independent preparation for classes, and leisure activities. The availability of the dormitory contributes to social support for students, strengthens their engagement in the educational process, and enhances the accessibility of higher education.

The university has a sports and recreation complex and a gym, which provide opportunities for physical education classes, sports events, and wellness programs. The sports facilities are equipped with the necessary equipment and inventory, enabling regular training, the development of athletic skills, and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle among students. The availability of sports infrastructure contributes not only to improving the health of students and staff but also to the development of mass sports and the enhancement of social activity among the student community.


The organization of student catering is carried out through cafeterias located in each academic building, with a total area of 447.7 sq. m. The premises are equipped with all the necessary furniture and equipment, providing comfortable conditions for meals. The cafeteria offers a diverse menu that complies with sanitary standards and requirements for product quality and safety. Conditions have been created to serve both students and university staff, which contributes to strengthening their health and improving the efficiency of the educational process.

Medical services for the university’s staff and students are provided in a medical office with a total area of 45 sq. m. The office operates on the basis of a state license for medical activities No. 002919 DF dated September 24, 2018, issued by the East Kazakhstan Regional Health Department. The medical office is equipped with the necessary instruments and equipment, which makes it possible to provide primary medical care, conduct preventive measures, and monitor the health of students and staff. The presence of its own medical office ensures the timely provision of medical assistance, contributes to disease prevention, and helps create safe conditions for organizing the educational process.


The university has an assembly hall equipped with modern multimedia equipment, which makes it possible to effectively use the facilities for a wide range of purposes. The assembly halls are intended for hosting conferences, scientific symposia, cultural and educational events, meetings, and presentations. The availability of modern technical resources ensures a high quality of event organization, contributes to the development of the scientific, educational, and cultural environment, and fosters active learning, cognitive, and creative activities of students.


The university library is an important structural unit that supports the educational and research process. The reading hall of the library is equipped with workstations for readers, providing access to bibliographic and full-text databases. The library’s collection is regularly updated with educational, scientific, and reference literature, which makes it possible to meet the information needs of the faculty and students. The availability of electronic resources and modern services contributes to the development of information culture, supports scientific research, and enhances the quality of the educational process.


The university has its own mini-printing house, which provides the educational process with the necessary printed materials, publishes the scientific and methodological works of the faculty, produces educational and promotional materials, and also serves as a practical base for the Journalism educational program.

The university has computer classrooms equipped with modern computer technology, enabling the conduct of classes, practical work, and scientific research. The server pool is represented by the following equipment: HP P19779-B21 DL360 Gen10/2/Xeon Silver/4210 (10C/20T 13.75Mb), 2.2–3.2 GHz/6x16Gb/P408i-a/2Gb/8 SFF/4x1GbE/No ODD/2x500W Platinum, as well as six HP 881457-B21 HPE 2.4TB SAS 12G 10K SFF SC 512e DS HDD storage units. The university also has 465 Core i3-level computers. The technical specifications of the personal computers in use are as follows: Core i3 3.2 GHz / 8 GB / 1000 GB / Intel HD 640 Video / Audio / LAN 100/1000 / LCD LED 22.
The presence of a modern computer base makes it possible to effectively use digital technologies in the educational process, provide access to educational platforms, electronic libraries, and databases, as well as foster the development of digital competencies among students.

The university has specialized classrooms and training laboratories where practical and laboratory classes are conducted to develop students’ professional skills and abilities. All laboratories and specialized classrooms are provided with technical passports, and safety instructions for carrying out all types of laboratory work have been developed and approved. The classrooms are equipped with the necessary equipment and instruments, which allows for the effective organization of the educational process.
To ensure safe learning conditions, fire safety and electrical safety measures have been implemented, and sanitary standards are observed. The presence of a modern laboratory and classroom base contributes to improving the quality of specialist training and implementing practice-oriented learning.
