International Exchange Experience through the Youth Exchange Program 2025: India, Desert Safari

Artem Glushakov, a fourth-year student in the Tourism program at the Kazakh-American Free University, once again represented KAFU and the Republic of Kazakhstan in the international Youth Exchange Program 2025, which this year took place in India as a Desert Safari.

He was part of the national delegation of Kazakhstan and participated in a large-scale cultural and adventure project organized by the National Council for Culture of India (NCC India). The camp brought together cadets from all 17 NCC India directorates, 15 representatives of PHHP&C, as well as delegates from Kazakhstan and Nepal.

Program participants visited key historical and cultural sites in the country, including the India Gate, Royal Albert Hall Museum, Mehrangarh Fort, the National War Memorial, Umaid Bhawan Palace, Hawa Mahal, and the Lotus Temple. As part of the Desert Safari, students enjoyed a camel safari through the golden dunes of the desert and learned about the region’s unique lifestyle.

The Kazakhstan delegation actively interacted with representatives from Nepal and India, fostering international friendship and promoting intercultural dialogue. The camp offered a unique combination of cultural exchange and desert tourism.

As a future tourism industry specialist, Artem gained valuable practical experience: he studied the organization of mass events, the specifics of Indian cultural tourism, the specifics of working with foreign delegations, and the potential of international exchange programs.

During the trip, the KAFU student worked as an interpreter, facilitating professional interaction between representatives of different countries. This provided valuable intercultural communication practice and strengthened his professional skills in international tourism.
