IX Regional Olympiad on the History of Kazakhstan among 11th grade students “The Turkic World: Past, Present and Future”

On April 25, 2025, the IX Regional Olympiad in the History of Kazakhstan among 11th-grade students on the topic “The Turkic World: Past, Present and Future” was held at the Kazakh-American Free University.

The Olympiad was organized by the Department of Law and International Relations as part of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The following prizes were provided for the winners:

• 1st place – an educational grant from the President of KAFU, Academician Ye.A. Mambetkaziyev;

• 2nd place – 50% discount on tuition at KAFU;

• 3rd place – 30% discount on tuition at KAFU.

The participants of the Olympiad completed test and logical tasks, answered a “live” question, and also solved a thematic crossword. All tasks covered materials on the medieval, modern and contemporary history and culture of Kazakhstan.

41 11th grade students from schools of the East Kazakhstan region took part in the Olympiad.

According to the results of the Olympiad, the following people took the prize places:

• 1 place — Ayazhan Akhmetkaliyeva (Shokan Ualikhanov School-Lyceum No. 3);

• 2 place — Ademi Serkhankyzy (Shokan Ualikhanov School-Lyceum No. 3);

• 3 place — Karina Kalmykpayeva (Nikolskoye Secondary School”, Education Department for the Altai District of the East Kazakhstan region Education department).
