IX Regional Programming Olympiad “Coding Skills”

On March 30-31, 2026, the Business Department of the Kazakh-American Free University, together with Oskemen IT-Hub, held the IX Regional Programming Olympiad “Coding Skills”!

The goal of this event was to draw public attention to intellectual competitions among students of technical and vocational educational institutions, promote intellectual leadership and team spirit, enhance the professional skills of talented youth, develop the information technology industry in East Kazakhstan region, and test practical programming skills and foster creative problem-solving.

The Olympiad consisted of two stages:

March 30 – online testing on the KAFU Moodle platform;

March 31 – in-person testing, which was attended by all 16 participants who successfully advanced to the next round.

In the second stage, participants solved five problems of varying difficulty in Python using PyCharm and Visual Studio. They were given 2.5 hours to complete the tasks. The participants demonstrated a high level of preparation, logical thinking, and the ability to find solutions under time constraints.

The main goal of the Olympiad is to develop IT skills, support talented youth, and promote intellectual competitions in the field of information technology.

Nikita Tikhonov (Ust-Kamenogorsk College of Economics and Technology) was awarded a first-place diploma and a certificate for tuition with a 50% discount on educational programs in the Department of Business.

Emin Rakhman Ogly Gurbanov (Ust-Kamenogorsk College of Economics and Technology) was awarded a second-place diploma and a certificate for tuition with a 30% discount on educational programs in the Department of Business.

Daniil Blagodetelev (Ust-Kamenogorsk College of Economics and Technology) was awarded a third-place diploma and a certificate for tuition with a 20% discount on educational programs in the Department of Business.
