KAFU Cooperation with Cumberland University (USA): Unique Opportunities for Students

On March 17, 2025, a presentation of the cooperation program between KAFU and Cumberland University (Tennessee, USA) was held at the Kazakh-American Free University.

KAFU Vice President for International Programs and Cooperation Daniel Ballast told students about two new international programs:

Mobility Program – KAFU students can study at Cumberland University for one to two semesters, then return to KAFU and continue their studies with credit for the courses they have completed.

2+2 program – provides for two years of study at KAFU, then transfer to Cumberland University for the remaining two years, which will allow them to obtain a degree from an American university.

As part of the cooperation, Cumberland University provides KAFU students with affordable tuition.

Conditions for participation in the programs

To participate in the program, a student must:

* receive a recommendation from the department and the Vice President for International Programs at KAFU;

* have an average GPA of 2.5 out of 4.0;

* pass an English language exam with minimum results:

  • TOEFL – 65,
  • IELTS – 5.5,
  • Duolingo – 100,
  • E3PT – 62;

* meet the requirements for obtaining an F-1 visa.
