KAFU Has Determined the Winner of the Presidential Grant
On February 28, 2025, the Kazakh-American Free University held the XI Regional Olympiad in Kazakh language and literature, dedicated to the 180th anniversary of Abai Kunanbayev. A total of 85 students of grades 10-11 from schools in the Ulan, Ulken-Naryn, Katon-Karagay, Glubokoye districts of the East Kazakhstan region, the Zharma district of the Abay region and the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk took part in the subject Olympiad.
Subject Olympiads are an excellent way to identify gifted students, develop their creative potential and stimulate interest in science and education. And for the participants, this is an opportunity to test their knowledge, evaluate themselves and enter a university without exams. The Olympiad in Kazakh language and literature selects the best of the best, and also helps future applicants to better understand the worldview of the great poet Abai Kunanbayev.
The Olympiad consisted of two stages. At the first stage, participants solved test tasks on the curriculum, at the second stage, they wrote an essay related to the life and work of Abai Kunanbayev.
As part of the Olympiad, a teacher of the East Kazakhstan Regional Linguistic Center, Lyazzat A. Aimukhambetova, held a seminar for teachers on the topic “Modern Methods and Techniques in Education and Artificial Intelligence”. All participants were given certificates.
The training for students who passed the second stage of the Olympiad was conducted by senior teacher of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology, psychologist Yelizaveta T. Katanova.
