KAFU is 30: University Volunteers and the City Prosecutor’s Office Work to Prevent Internet Fraud
As part of the cooperation between students of the Kazakh-American University and the City Prosecutor’s Office, outreach work was carried out among the population of Ust-Kamenogorsk on an important topic – the Prevention of Internet Fraud.
Today, Internet fraud has become one of the most relevant problems in our society. The development of technology and the widespread use of the Internet create a favorable environment for scammers who use various methods to deceive people and illegally obtain their money or personal information.
Today online fraud takes many forms, from phishing and fraudulent websites to cyber-attacks and identity theft. Unfortunately, even the most careful users can become victims of scammers, as their methods are constantly being improved and adapted to modern technologies.
The purpose of the outreach was to increase awareness of the methods and signs of Internet fraud, as well as to provide training on how to protect against such criminal activities. We looked at various fraud scenarios, discussed ways to prevent them, and shared practical tips for staying safe online.
We hope the work will help our citizens to be more vigilant and protected on the Internet. Protect your personal information, exercise caution when conducting online transactions, and do not hesitate to seek assistance from law enforcement if you suspect fraudulent activity. Together we can make the internet a safer and more reliable place for everyone.
