KAFU Journalism Students Visit the Editorial Office of the Ustinka LIVE Portal

On February 9, 2026, first- to third-year students of the Journalism program at the Kazakh-American Free University visited the editorial office of Ustinka LIVE, one of the region’s leading news portals.

The students were greeted by the media portal’s management: Director Viktor Skripnichenko and Editor-in-Chief Viktor Rachenkov. They introduced the guests to the editorial staff, discussed the structure of a modern news portal, and the requirements for media professionals in Kazakhstan today. The students especially appreciated the opportunity to interact with current practitioners. Experienced journalists from the publication, including Evgeniya Chekh, Galina Pestryakova, Dmitry Kryukovich, and Nazerke Karimova, spoke about their professional paths, finding exclusive stories, and working with sources. The key topic of the meeting was the transformation of the media sphere. Students asked questions and received valuable advice from their future senior colleagues. These types of off-site meetings not only provide an insight into the profession but also help them establish professional connections with potential employers while still studying.

The Department of Pedagogy and Psychology expresses its gratitude to the Ustinka LIVE team for the warm welcome and their contribution to the development of young professionals!
