KAFU Signed a Memorandum with the University of the Cumberlands (USA)
On September 24, 2024, the Kazakh-American Free University took an important step in developing international cooperation by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of the Cumberlands (USA). The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, bringing together representatives of both educational organizations.
It is especially worth noting that the signing of the Memorandum took place on the dates of the celebration of the 30th anniversary at KAFU and the 40th anniversary of the rector’s activity of E.A. Mambetkaziyev.
From the American side, the University of the Cumberlands was represented by Dr. Mark Hanshaw, Vice-Rector and General Advisor, as well as Dr. Sean McDaniel, Associate Professor of History. At KAFU, the guests were met by Rector Aidar Mambetkaziyev and key members of the university team, including First Vice-President Zhasulan Baikenov and Vice-President for International Programs and Cooperation Daniel Ballast.
The program of the meeting began with a presentation of the University of the Cumberlands, which was given by Drs. Hanshaw and McDaniel. After that, both parties discussed the possibilities of partnership, which includes academic exchange of students and teachers and scientific cooperation, and a ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Understanding took place.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding opens the door to joint programs for the exchange of students and teachers, cooperation in scientific and educational fields. Both parties expressed confidence that this step will become the basis for fruitful and long-term cooperation.
