KAFU Students Meet with a Practicing Psychologist
On October 8, 2025, third-year students of the “Psychology” program at the Kazakhstan-American Free University met with practicing psychologist and certified cognitive-behavioral therapy specialist Nikolay Rychagov.
The event was held as part of the course Foundations of Psychological Counseling. Students learned about the key principles of the cognitive-behavioral approach, discovered how distorted beliefs affect emotions and behavior, and understood how recognizing and changing these beliefs helps develop healthy coping strategies.
During the meeting, a demonstration of the “ABC Analysis” technique was conducted, sparking active discussion and interest among the future psychologists.
