Leadership as the Art of Teambuilding: KAFU Hosts an Exclusive Workshop for Management

Preceding the start of the XVI International Scientific Forum of Young Scientists, a closed working session for the university’s administrative staff was held on April 6, 2026, at the Kazakh-American Free University. Sean McKalvey, Director of Training and Professional Development Programs at Resource Exchange International (Colorado Springs, USA), served as a special guest and leading expert.

Today’s scientific and practical seminar, “Psychological Aspects of Leadership Presence in Team Management,” focused on the internal transformation of the university’s corporate culture. Vice-rectors, faculty deans, department heads, and heads of university units participated in the presentation.

The main topic of discussion was the phenomenon of “Leadership Presence.” Drawing on international ICF coaching standards, Sean McKalvey demonstrated how a leader’s mental engagement directly impacts the effectiveness of the entire team. Participants explored practical cases on optimizing business processes through empathetic leadership, aligning goals across various academic departments, and implementing employee support systems from onboarding to long-term development.

This intensive course was an important step in preparing the management team for hosting international delegations and implementing new educational initiatives.

For those unable to attend today’s meeting, work with the expert will continue at the XVI International Scientific Forum of Young Scientists. Sean McKalvey will present a series of open events: on April 8, a lecture on “The Power of Emotional Intelligence in Leadership” and a workshop/training session on “The Art of Coaching: Listening Skills and Powerful Questions” will be held, and on April 10, a seminar on “EQ Leadership: Managing an Organization’s Emotional Capital” will be held.

We invite students, postgraduates, and faculty to join us in discussing current trends in global management!
