Meeting of the Academic Council of KAFU

On October 22, 2024, the regular meeting of the Academic Council was held at the Kazakh-American Free University.

The meeting was opened by the First Vice President of KAFU, Zhasulan Y. Baikenov. The first issue on the agenda of the Academic Council was a discussion of the prospects for international cooperation of KAFU. Vice President for International Programs and Cooperation, Daniel Ballast, presented information on current initiatives and new opportunities for the university in the international arena.

The next item on the agenda was measures to promote scientific activity at the university. Vice-Rector for Research and Postgraduate Education, Yulia A. Gavrilova, presented a report on the current state and directions for further development of scientific research.

An important aspect of the meeting was the results of career guidance work and the admissions campaign. Head of the Marketing and Admission Office, Azamat B. Berdibekov, shared the results and prospects for the 2024-2025 academic year, focusing on successful practices for attracting students. Next, a report was presented on the work of the Student Service Center module, as well as on the work of the Telegram modules: KAFU Chat Bot and KAFU Virtual Assistant. Director of the Center for Information Support and Digital Educational Technologies Yulia V. Trofimova noted significant achievements in improving interaction in this matter.

The results of the work of the project “KAFU Major-Specialized Class” were presented by Natalia A. Nesterenko, Advisor to the Rector of KAFU. She focused on the successes and plans for further development of the project.

President of KAFU Yerezhep A. Mambetkaziev summed up the meeting of the Academic Council. He expressed confidence that thanks to joint efforts, it will be possible to implement new initiatives and projects of the university.
