METHODOLOGICAL SEMINAR TO IMPROVE THE PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE OF FUTURE FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHERS

On December 13, 2024, within the framework of the discipline “Professionally-oriented foreign language”, under the guidance of the senior teacher of the Department of Foreign Languages, Anna A. Oskolkova, 2nd-year students of the educational program “Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages” held a methodological seminar. The main source of methodological support for students of the pedagogical educational program was the “Forum” magazine, in which you can find a variety of articles and practical developments of English teachers from all over the world, as well as other authentic printed and online resources.

The purpose of this methodological seminar is to improve the professional competence of future foreign language teachers. A week before the seminar, students worked in pairs and mini-groups and determined the topic of the presentation, worked with authentic materials and prepared presentations. The presentations by students covered such aspects of foreign language teaching as: teaching vocabulary to primary school students, using podcasts in teaching writing, working with groups of students online, organizing extracurricular activities, creative approaches to teaching productive skills, vocabulary and grammar of the English language, and much more. At the end of each presentation, students summed up the results and asked questions to the audience.
