Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek awarded Yerezhep A. Mambetkaziyev with the medal “Enbek Ardageri” («Veteran of Labour»)

On September 26, 2024, at the Kazakh-American Free University, as part of the celebrations dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the university and the 40th anniversary of the rector’s activity of Academician Yerezhep Mambetkaziyev, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek presented Yerezhep A. Mambetkaziyev with the medal “Enbek Ardageri” («Veteran of Labour») for his outstanding services to national education and significant contribution to the development of higher education in Kazakhstan.

Yerezhep Mambetkaziyev is a person whose life and career are inextricably linked with the development of science and education in Kazakhstan. As the first Minister of Education of independent Kazakhstan, he initiated and implemented a number of reforms, including the creation of the Bolashak program, the introduction of trilingual education, and the opening of private universities such as KAFU, which became the first international private university in the country. Under his leadership, KAFU became a recognized world-class educational center that has trained thousands of successful graduates and established strong partnerships with universities in the United States, Europe, and Asia.
