Offsite Meeting of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan

On October 17, 2024, the President of the Kazakh-American Free University, Academician of the NAS RK Yerezhep A. Mambetkaziyev took part in the offsite meeting of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the development of science and technology. One of the key aspects of the event was the discussion of the intermediate results of foresight studies in such strategically important areas as “Geology, extraction and processing of mineral and hydrocarbon raw materials, new materials and technologies” and “Rational use of water resources, flora and fauna, ecology”.

The sessions were devoted to the implementation of scientific projects and the creation of a platform for cooperation between science and business. The event was attended by representatives of research institutes, universities, key enterprises and organizations.

The key topics of discussion were the use of foresight methods for forecasting and managing scientific and technological development. The reports were presented by leading experts from universities and research centers, who shared the interim results of research in the mining and metallurgical industry, new materials, ecology and other areas.

The final session was devoted to the interaction of science and business. Projects ready for commercialization were presented, problems and opportunities for cooperation with enterprises were discussed. The event also included a ceremony of signing memorandums with enterprises of the East Kazakhstan region and the opening of a branch of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The meeting ended with a discussion of further steps to develop the scientific potential of the region, an exchange of proposals and recommendations from the participants.
