Participation of KAFU representatives in the Educational Leadership program
From March 11 to March 15, 2024, Director of the Department of Academic Policy, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Mukazhanova A.M. and head of the department of pedagogy and psychology, candidate of philological sciences Nurlanova A.N. completed the course “Leadership in Education” as part of the project “Implementing the model of teacher education and strengthening its content” at the Graduate School of Education of Nazarbayev University.
As part of the project, which is being implemented with the support of the World Bank, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, HAMK and JAMK universities (Finland), a number of courses are being conducted, including this program for university staff and directors of rural schools.
The program aims to develop competencies in key areas of educational leadership. Students gained knowledge about the latest trends in education, learned to generate innovative ideas and approaches using new technologies, develop a vision of the future and solve problems with a focus on results.
The training consists of 72 academic hours and is conducted in a hybrid format. It includes online sessions, a week-long intensive offline training at the Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Education with the participation of international and local experts, as well as mentoring sessions. Teaching methods are focused on actively involving students in the process of collaborative learning and developing a common understanding of new pedagogical principles.
