Practical Lesson on Psychodiagnostics: Students Mastered the Case Study Method
On April 22, 2024, as part of the discipline “Fundamentals of Psychodiagnostics”, a practical lesson was held on the case study method. Students of the EP “Psychology” practiced the skills of independently analyzing a request for diagnostics, forming a research procedure, implementing it and providing data in the form of a psychological report with recommendations.
During the lesson, students worked in groups, analyzing the proposed cases, formulating diagnostic hypotheses, selecting appropriate methods and interpreting the data obtained. Particular attention was paid to the communicative aspect of presenting the results: how to convey the findings to the client in an accessible language, avoiding professional jargon, but maintaining their accuracy and depth.
The main stages of work on the case study method included:
• Request analysis: identifying key problems and setting diagnostic goals;
• Formation of a research procedure: selection of methods (testing, interviews, observation) depending on the specific case;
• Workshop on data processing: transformation of primary results into structured conclusions;
• Preparation of a conclusion: document structure, ethical aspects and formulation of recommendations.
The lesson allowed students to apply the acquired knowledge in practice and improve their skills in professional analysis of psychological requests.
