From November 3 to 6, 2025, as part of the international scientific congress “Humanizing Education in the Digital World: Professional and Ethical Guidelines for International Partnership,” the Kazakh-American Free University hosted a four-day educational seminar, “AI ON CAMPUS: LEVELING UP YOUR GAME.” Professor Douglas Hartman of Michigan State University (MSU, USA), a leading expert in digital literacy and education and a professor in the Department of Foreign Languages at KAFU, led the seminar.
Students from programs 6B01703 “Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages” and 6B02301 “Translation Studies” participated in the seminar. Over the course of four days, Professor Hartman introduced students to modern trends in integrating artificial intelligence into academic and professional settings, discussed the responsible and critical use of digital tools, and ways to improve personal effectiveness when working with AI platforms.
Professor Hartman noted the high level of engagement and curiosity among KAFU students, emphasizing that integrating AI into the educational process opens up new opportunities for creativity and self-development for future teachers and translators.
