Regional competition of author’s poems dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the birth of Mukhtar Auezov

On September 28, 2022, the Kazakh-American Free University hosted a Regional Competition of author’s poems dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the birth of Mukhtar Auezov. Mukhtar Auezov is a word artist, philologist, unsurpassed connoisseur of Kazakh folklore, playwright, journalist, teacher, brilliant polymath and encyclopedist. Mukhtar Auezov became the first writer who contributed to the formation and development of Kazakh literature with his creative works. Mukhtar Auezov’s works have been repeatedly republished and translated into many languages of the world.

The competition was opened by the leading events – Kenzhebayeva Leila and Bugaev Mikhail – students of the OP “Journalism”. The First Vice-President of Baykenov Zhasulan Yerbolovich, who emphasized the importance of M. Auezov’s creativity for modernity, and the Vice-President for International Relations and Cooperation, delivered a welcoming speech Daniel Ballast.

Reports on the life and work of M.Auezov were made Madina Meirambekkyzy (student of the OP “Kazakh language and Literature”) and Amalia Bubnova (student of the OP “Russian Language and Literature”), performed a musical number Dauletshinova Nazerke and Serik Inkar (students of the OP “Kazakh language and literature”).

Taskynbek Kundyz, a graduate of the KAZU OP “Kazakh Language and Literature”, a young poetess, author of the book “Zhurektegi kobelek” addressed the young poets with a parting word.

The rules of performance and evaluation criteria were announced by the chairman of the jury Taskimbayeva Roza Kapanovna is a teacher of the Higher College of KASU. The results of the competition were announced Kaykenova Ainura Muratovna – teacher of the EKGK named after Abaya, head of the regional methodological association of teachers of the Kazakh language and literature of the Center of the VET of East Kazakhstan Region. The co-organizer of the competition was the East Kazakhstan Linguistic Center of the Culture Department of the East Kazakhstan region.

The winners of the competition were awarded diplomas of 1, 2, 3 degrees, the heads of the diploma holders – certificates for the preparation of the winner. The rest of the participants were awarded certificates for participation in the competition, and their managers were awarded certificates for the preparation of the participant.

The KASU library hosts an exhibition dedicated to the anniversary of Mukhtar Auezov, where you can get acquainted with the wonderful works of one of the most famous writers of Kazakh literature.

Within the framework of the event, a presentation of the video “125 years of Mukhtar Auezov: journalists tell”, prepared by students of the 3rd year of the OP “Journalism”, was also held.
